This is the transcript of our very first AMA with one of the Gurus from the ChainZ Arena Team!

All questions are asked by our community from the AMA — Telegram Channel. AMA held on 5th June 2020

Question: Can you guys make a video explaining the game play

Answer: If we are referring to a step by step video showing each step of the process, we have contacted a few people to see if we can get this done. since there is so much added new features and systems, i do agree that one is needed especially for now users

Question: What are your plans to advertise this game for bigger audience? and Is there possibility to make some red border cards very rare so the cards can gain more value? Or is there even thoughts to make cards more valuable for players.

Answer:

1. I think a few things need to be addressed before we start marketing to a bigger audience.

a. There is some adjustments needed so that the games runs smoothly on all phones
b. We need to ensure that all wallets are able to support the game, unfortunately some wallets don’t use the public api for transactions on the blockchain, meaning we have to do they 1 by 1.
c. An APK and iOS version. We are almost done the APK version specifically for Samsung App Store, which will be featured with the help of Justin Sun.

Once these are completed + daily login rewards + Achievements + Quests then I believe we can begin advertising to a bigger audience

2. We need to see what the best way to do this , and this is also why I always talk to the community. Yes we can make some cards rarer, but it will be a bit awkward to have different probabilities for all red cards.

One way we can do it is to have a release of some sort of special card that is limited, and can only be summoned through advanced summon. But the other issue with this is that it may cause an imbalance in Cryptogon.

Given the above, there are many things that need to be considered before we take this step. Currently the team is more focused on gameplay to ensure that there is enough content for more players, and to ensure that the servers are able to withstand a much larger audience, when the time comes.

Question: When Roadmap?

Answer: before we launched the game, we were going to provide a roadmap. Then right before release we were thinking… what is the biggest problem with current games on the blockchain. They create all this content thinking that “this is what the players want, this is what the players think will be fun”. On the contrary, I think that most of us don’t know because Crypto and Blockchain Games is a totally new space where making money is also part of the game.

Therefore we decided “OK let’s take a bottom up approach instead. Let’s put out the main game loop first, and from there we go back to the community for feedback to see what they will find fun and exciting. Up until now, I believe that this strategy has had more ups than downs.
But I also want you guys to realize that, we listen to all suggestions, but there are many things to consider. Some will be used, some will be improved upon, and some will be left out. At the end of the day everything we do is for the “fun” in the game!

Question: Token Burns, I guess the question is, where can they See the SOUL burnt, and how much has been burnt.

Answer: I will update this figure at a later date, once we decide we do with the “consumed” SOUL. Most is released back to the community through events. Like those in the Arena. so we can revisit this at a later date

Question:
What is the main reason you made this game / dapp? Who are the teams behind this game? How is the experience of the person or team behind this game? I am interested in this game and want to know more about the person / team behind this game. Thanks!

Answer:

The reason we made this game/dapp is because we have been game developers/publishers and most importantly players all our lives. We realized that in the mobile game space there has been a lack of innovation, a lack of quality, a lack of a real game whether action or idle. And we wanted to change that by providing users with a high quality game. The team has over 80 years of accumulated experience in mobile and browser gaming. We have been quite successful in the paste, with one particular game grossing over 100m USD.
I’m sure that throughout ChainZ Arena we will for sure get to know each other a lot more : )

Question:

How many people are there in your team? Are you all from the same city? Are you working on this game full time or do you have other projects on the side?

Answer:
1. Currently the team consists of 20 people, mostly developers

2. We are not all from the same city, but we have been working together for 8 years

3. We are working on this game full time, but we are also working on things to support the game — for example a wallet with good UI/UX experience that supports ChainZ Arena and anything else we develop as if it was a native app.
the problem i have with some wallets is that you can’t get the real “experience” because it is all in a browser. We are looking at a way to change this, and hopefully we will have this out by the end of the month

Question:

Game performance: when will you optimise the code so that CPU usage is adequate?

Answer:

We are always optimising it : )

That’s the only answer I have for that one

Question:

What’s your vision for chainzarena? Where do you want to see this game in the next 2 years? Me personally invested in enjin and enjin is by far one of the biggest platform for games and nfts right now. By any chance we competing with enjin?

Answer:
Well I think ChainZ Arena will hopefully begin to bring in new users who are not in crypto, as we are looking at a way to allow fiat users to play as well.

Where will ChainZ be in 2 years, i think that really depends on all of us. As I said previously I do not have a roadmap for ChainZ, but what I do have is a great community that wants to work with us on building a better experience and economy. This is also why as previously mentioned we take a bottom up approach. So the pressure is on guys!

Now in regards to Enjin

Yes they are a competitor, but I think we are taking 2 very different paths

They did an ICO with Enjin token.

We did not do an ICO and all tokens are mined by users

Secondly, we like to give back to the community.

As I mentioned previously we have been in game industry for a while. The biggest problem is Developers keep all the money after paying Google and Apple or any other payment provider.

I always advocate that Apple and Google will not be Apple and Google today if it wasn’t because YOU and YOUR dedication to their platform. Then how come they get to keep all the profits? When it is actually YOU bringing value to them? This is where I hope that ChainZ Arena and anything we do down the road will change. Developers and publishers need to survive, but it is the players that bring the value and therefore it should be the players being rewarded one way or another. hope that kind of gives you an idea of my thought process for how games should be on the blockchain, and why I think that Enjin may not be a competitor that some may think, as we are taking a different approach in talking the game industry

Questions:

1.is the team working on any other projects now or planning to in the future? Would like to know if so, will soul be the base of every other game made?

2. Is the team planning to break into the normal market where the public can just use credit cards to buy in and play?

If yes, will be get divs as soul holders?

Answer:

1. We are working on other things to support ChainZ such as the wallet and the APK among others.

There will definitely be other projects as we expand

We are still in the infancy of ChainZ… it’s only been a month and a bit more…. so we have not decided on anything else. Our main focus right now is on how to improve on ChainZ Arena~

2. Yes we are planning to, but it is easier said than done. Just to name a few of the issues, we have no way to deal with chargebacks which will be unfair if someone chargebacks and gets free SOUL. Once you involve fiat with a souldrop system, it may run into some legal issues on our end. But we are constantly looking at different options to see how we can get this done

Question:
When I play the Gladiator, it seems that the combination of heroes does not affect the success or failure of the battle, but if you think that’s reasonable, do you have any plans to adjust it?

Answer: After the update, I do not agree with saying “combination of heroes does not affect it” because it does. But we also need to understand that some of the skills are random ,for example Sprit Master

So let’s take spirit master as an example damage to 2–6 enemies. I had a match today where my opponent didn’t even have 1 tank. Opponent’s spirit master was defeated, dealt damage to all 6 of my heroes and I ended up losing. So there is “randomization” to many aspects of the game, but the base is still the heroes that you choose the “skill” part is how you form your team the “luck” part is the randomization of the heroes skills.
So to conclude my answer to the question, I think every choice you make for your formation will affect the outcome.
Just like poker : ) you need skill and luck!

Question: How were you guys able to make a game link with 3 blockchain? I really want to know

Answer: haha if I told you, then we will have no more advantage : ) haha if I told you, then we will have no more advantage : )

Just to give you a hint… I guess you can look at kind of like… WBTC… but not exactly

Question: What about gold and spirit rewards for arena wins? That would be nice

Answer: Well technically you get those already through the Arena leaderboard rewards. For each arena battle if you are rewarded gold and spirit, then everyone will only battle the users that they know they will win for sure. Which will then defeat the purpose of the arena. I also believe that there is more than enough avenues to getting gold and spirit since we also added it to the hero market etc. As of right now, I don’t think we will make a change as you suggested. As we don’t see a big issue with the gold and spirit economy

Question: Are you going to have a referral system?

Answer: We have one in the works, but still need to make some changes to ensure people can’t take advantage of it where it ruins the game.

We will hold an AMA every Month and we will open the AMA Telegram Room at least 1 week prior so you can ask your questions in the room. As always we will try to answer as many of your questions as possible.

Thank you
